I’m Kate, that’s who!

I live in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I work for what’s been voted several times as the best comic shop in the world, Strange Adventures, and I am a cartoonist. I am sorry if I hit on your boyfriend.

I self-published a few collections of mini-comics and then compiled them into Ultimate Kate or Die, which is available in my Etsy shop! I was an artist for Womanthology and a regular contributor to Locke and Key, as well as other projects hither and thither such as The Strange Talent of Luther Strode. I’m doing backup strips for the follow-up series The Legend of Luther Strode, too! Lately, I work on stuff for Adventure Time spinoffs and other goodies for BOOM studios! I start a lot of things I can’t finish. I drink a lot and I’m pretty into kissing.

I am self-taught in comics and have been making them since late 2010. I use Micron and Faber-Castell pens as well as a Pentel brush pen. I’d use Copic if I could afford them. I’m a fan of Canson Bristol paper and cheap, cheap watercolours. I colour digitally with a Bamboo Craft tablet. I like to make lip-synch videos and edit things together to music. I dropped out of art school and look at me now, mom!

This blog is a combination sketch/comics/inspiration blog. I can’t be bothered to keep them separate!
